Our Services

East Africa Minerals supports international buyers at every stage of sourcing gold, diamonds and gemstones from East Africa: verifying who you’re buying from, confirming what you’re buying, and documenting the export so it holds up at the border.

What We Offer

Each service below exists to answer one question a buyer should always be asking: how do you know this is real, and how do you know it’s legal to export?

Gold Trading

We connect buyers with sellers of gold doré, gold bars and refined gold, and we verify the seller’s licensing before any transaction proceeds - not after.

Gold Export

Export requires more than a willing buyer and seller. In Uganda, for example, a mineral dealer licence from the Directorate of Geological Survey and Mines and a per-consignment export permit are both required under the Mining and Minerals Act 2022, alongside customs clearance from the Uganda Revenue Authority and a certificate of origin from the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. We manage that process rather than leaving a buyer to navigate it alone.

Gold Doré Bars

We source gold doré bars from sellers we have verified, and we arrange independent assay before any purity claim is treated as fact.

Diamond Trading

We source diamonds through the same verification standard we apply to gold: checking a seller’s documentation before representing any claim about the material as fact.

Gemstone Trading

The same standard applies to gemstones - sapphires, rubies, emeralds and others - sourced from sellers whose documentation a buyer can check.

Mineral Export

Beyond gold, diamonds and gemstones, we support export of other mineral commodities, coordinating the same licensing and documentation chain regardless of the specific mineral.

Commodity Sourcing

We identify and check potential suppliers on a buyer’s behalf, rather than simply forwarding whichever seller approaches us first.

Supplier Verification

Before we introduce any seller, we check that they hold the mineral dealer licence their jurisdiction requires, and we ask to see it - not just a reference to it.

Assay Services

We arrange independent assay testing so a purity claim is a verified result, not a seller’s word. Buyers are welcome to ask to witness or independently repeat the sampling.

Export Documentation

We prepare and coordinate the export permit, customs clearance and certificate of origin a legal export requires, working directly with the relevant licensing and customs authorities rather than relying on informal paperwork.

Logistics Management

We coordinate the physical movement of verified material from origin to export point - in Uganda, for example, most gold exports move through Entebbe International Airport - and from there to its destination.

Compliance & Due Diligence

We work within the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas, the framework most refiners and the LBMA require, and we tell buyers plainly when a sourcing area calls for more due diligence than usual rather than glossing over it.

Working With Us

If you need one of these services on its own, or the full process from sourcing through to export, contact us and we’ll tell you honestly what we can verify and what we can’t.

Gold Trading

We are not an investment adviser and this isn’t investment advice - we’re a sourcing, verification and export partner for buyers who already know they need to source gold from East Africa. Before any transaction proceeds, we verify the seller’s mineral dealer licence directly with the issuing authority, not from the seller’s own description of it.

Gold Export

Exporting gold legally from Uganda requires a mineral dealer’s licence, an export permit, a certificate of origin and the relevant customs clearance, in that order, before any shipment moves. We coordinate all of it, and we arrange assay through independent third-party laboratories rather than claiming our own testing facility.

Gold Dore Bars

Dore is the form most gold leaves a producing country in, and it is the form most of our enquiries concern. It is also widely misunderstood, which is what makes buyers vulnerable.

This page explains what a dore bar actually is, why no honest supplier can quote you a purity before assay, and what a legitimate dore purchase from Uganda involves.

Gemstone Trading

We source and trade gemstones from East Africa and apply the same verification standard we use for gold: checking a seller’s documentation before representing any claim about the stone as fact.

Mineral Export

Whatever the specific mineral, a legal export follows the same underlying chain: supplier verification, assay where applicable, export documentation, and logistics. We manage that chain end to end rather than handling one link and leaving the rest to the buyer.

Commodity Sourcing

We identify potential suppliers of gold, diamonds and gemstones across Uganda and the wider region and check their licensing and documentation before making an introduction, rather than acting as a directory of whoever approaches us.

Supplier Verification

A supplier’s own claims about their business aren’t verification. Before we introduce any seller to a buyer, we check their mineral dealer licence and supporting documentation directly with the issuing authority, rather than accepting a reference to it.

This applies the same way across gold, diamond and gemstone trading: the material may differ, but the question - does this seller actually hold what they claim to hold - is the same.

Assay Services

Assay services exist to answer one question: is the material actually what the seller says it is? East Africa Minerals arranges independent assay testing for gold, diamonds and gemstones - independent because the lab checking the material is not the seller, and not us either.

We coordinate sample collection, the independent laboratory analysis, and the resulting report, and buyers are welcome to ask to witness or independently repeat the sampling. A result is only useful if you trust how it was produced.

Export Documentation

Exporting gold, diamonds or gemstones legally requires more than a bill of sale. In Uganda, the Mining and Minerals Act 2022 requires a mineral dealer licence from the Directorate of Geological Survey and Mines and a per-consignment export permit, alongside customs clearance from the Uganda Revenue Authority and a certificate of origin from the Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Other jurisdictions we work in have their own equivalent requirements, and we coordinate whichever chain applies.

Logistics Management

Logistics is the last link in the chain, not a separate one. A shipment that moves before its documentation is confirmed is a shipment that can be held at the border - which costs more in delay than arranging the paperwork properly would have taken. We sequence transport around compliance, not around speed alone.

Compliance & Due Diligence

We work within the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas - the framework most refiners and the LBMA require - and through each jurisdiction’s own licensing and export law, rather than treating compliance as paperwork to route around.
